Client Testimonials

“I have been a business
and personal insurance
client since 2007.  I am
extremely pleased with the
guidance and direction
Karen, Michael, and Amy
have provided. They are
very knowledgeable, and
have taken extra time to
find the best coverage at
the best price for me.
Further, they helped me
when we had a theft at our
office.  I feel very fortunate
to have them as my agents,
and am glad they are now
patients of mine.”

Dr. Gregory O’Connor,
Malibu Eye Center

“We have been a client
of the agency since 1998.
Elmer and Michael have
always been very responsive
and helpful in guiding us to
the best coverage for our
business package and
workers compensation
policies.  We very much
appreciate their advice, and
highly recommend their
services.”

Holiday Safety December, 2011

The holiday season is fast approaching.  For many
of us this is the time we open our homes to invite
family and friends to share in festivities of the season.

Candles always add a special touch to holiday entertaining.  We all love the beauty of candles, but it is important to be careful.  The top three days for home candle fires are Christmas, Christmas Eve and New Years Day.  Fire Departments respond to an average of 15,260 home fires started by candles per year.  These fires cause an annual average of 166 deaths, 1,289 injuries, and $450 million in property damage.

As we enter this season, please keep safety in mind:

  • Always keep a burning candle in plain sight - never leave it unattended.
  • Never burn a candle near anything that can catch fire.
  • Always use a candleholder and place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • Make certain all candles are completely extinguished before leaving the room.
  • Never use a candle as a night light.

In the event a fire should occur, it is important for all family members to know what to do, what not to do, and who to contact.  We recommend you contact Larry and Karen Katz of PuroClean. They are professionals in mitigating property remediation after a home is damaged by fire and smoke.  They have worked with many of our clients over the years, and their work is excellent.  They can be reached at (805) 367-3118 and at lkatz@puroclean.com

Knowing and using good safety practices will help ensure everyone has a joyous and safe holiday season.  Please take the time to be extra cautious this year.

We wish you a happy and healthy holiday season and 2012!
